As the K1800 and the K1700 are both Kärcher pressure washers, they benefit from the same level of quality and attention to detail.

Power Comparison

  • Fuel: Both units are electric pressure washers.
  • Engine & Pump: The Kärcher K1800 and the Kärcher K1700 both use an axial-type pump to put water under pressure. The latter's pump is manufactured by N-COR. In either case, the pump is powered by a 14-amp motor.

The following charts are provided to show you at a glance how the main specs of the Karcher K1800 compare to the Karcher K1700.

  • Pressure: With a maximum reachable pressure of 1800 PSI, the Kärcher K1800 provides a somewhat higher force to blast off dirt and grime than the 1700 PSI of the Kärcher K1700.
  • Water Flow: These 2 units offer the same maximum water flow. Each of them should be able to deliver a maximum of 1.2 GPM (gallons per minute) and to offer the same rinsing power.
  • Cleaning Power: With its 2160 C.U. (Cleaning Units = PSI x GPM), the Kärcher K1800 offers a somewhat higher overall cleaning efficiency than the K1700 and its 2040 C.U.

Design Comparison

  • Design: Both units are constructed with a hand truck design. Therefore, if either of these 2 devices should provide better mobility, it would be due to its wheels and weight (which we detail just below).
  • Weight: With an approximate weight of 20.7 lbs, the K1700 is slightly less heavy than the K1800 (which weighs around 21.4 lbs).
  • Maneuverability: Both products benefit from a set of wheels, which greatly contributes to their maneuverability. The K1800 has the advantage of having a folding handle, which allows it to take up less space when not in use.

Feature Comparison

  • Soap Addition: Both washers allow for the addition of chemical detergent solutions to the water. Whether you choose the K1800 or the K1700, you'll be able to store your cleaning chemicals in the unit's onboard soap tank. Their soap capacity is equal, as the tanks of both units can hold 0.5 gal of detergent.
  • Trigger Gun & Wand: Each of these 2 units comes with a fairly standard ergonomic trigger gun and a classic wand.
  • Nozzles: Out of the box, the K1700 and the K1800 both come with a 3-nozzle package. The set of included nozzles is the same in either case: 15°, soap, and a turbo nozzle.
  • Reach: With its included 25 ft high-pressure hose, the Kärcher K1800 will allow you, out of the box, to move farther away from the unit than the Kärcher K1700 and its 20 ft high pressure hose. As both units feature a 35 ft power cord, their maximum allowable placement from an electrical outlet is the same.
  • Storage: The K1800 and K1700 both offer onboard storage that allows you to neatly keep the accessories you need at hand. Both washers feature a set of hooks to help you neatly store their high pressure hoses when not in use.
