Zoom on the ECHO PW-3200

In a nutshell, the ECHO PW-3200 is a heavy duty, commercial pressure washer, which not only offers an all-around versatile cleaning experience, but that also allows:

  • spot cleaning of hard, unpainted surfaces or high reach areas
  • intense cleaning of hard, unpainted surfaces
  • cleaning of painted or delicate surfaces
  • use of detergent and cleaning solutions

Ahead are presented its power characteristics and design, its main features and any other additional features.

Power

Using an impressive 212 cc engine, its axial cam pump delivers a pressure of up to 3200 PSI (roughly 53 times more than a standard garden hose) and a flow of up to 2.5 GPM (values as per PW101-2010). Together, the values result in a cleaning power of 8000 Cleaning Units.

A classic pull-start mechanism is responsible for starting the gas-powered pressure washer’s engine.

Gasoline is stored in a steel fuel tank with a maximum capacity of 0.95 gallon.

Design & Handling

The wheelbarrow design of the ECHO PW-3200 grants mobility and stability to the unit. The strong steel frame assures assembly longevity. The reversible handle offers further versatility, as its different positions make the unit less bulky when stored.

The device can be maneuvered with ease by most, since it only weighs 69 lbs. A major component of its weight are its 212 cc engine and steel frame. Nethertheless, thanks to its two never-flat wheels, the PW-3200 remains very easy to manipulate and maneuver.

Main Features

The ECHO PW-3200's package includes a spray gun, a wand, a pressure hose, 5 nozzles and a detergent injection feature, with a more detailed description below.

  • Soap injection: Detergent is fed in through a siphon hose, since the device lacks a soap tank. The ECHO PW-3200 has an automatic soap dilution mechanism, which dilutes the detergent using a 20:1 ratio. The detergent will be added automatically to the water when a soap nozzle is attached.
  • Pressure hose: The 30 ft high-pressure hose, which is included with the device, can be stored neatly on the unit itself when idle, using a set of easy-to-use straps.
  • Spray gun and wand: The included classic ergonomic spray gun and its wand can be easily stored in a side hook. The gun features a rotating auxiliary side handle to further improve the comfort of both left and right-handed users.
  • Nozzles: The 5 included nozzles, and the respective surfaces they’re appropriate for, are listed in the table below.

The ECHO PW-3200's performance versus other pressure washers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how the key specs of the ECHO PW-3200 compare to similarly priced pressure washers.

  • The ECHO PW-3200, a device which can produce up to 3200 PSI, is on the lower end of the pressure spectrum, among the gas-powered pressure washers in the $600-700 price range. If your priority is the highest possible power of the water stream, in this price range, we suggest checking out the Simpson PS60843, which reaches up to 4400 PSI.
  • This washer, with a GPM of 2.5 (gallons per minute) has a somewhat lower water flows value compared to devices in its price range. If being able to rinse away debris as efficiently as possible is your priority, one of the products with the highest GPM in this price range is the Simpson PS60843, with 4 GPM.
  • The PW-3200 ranks as below average in terms of Cleaning Units, compared to gas-powered devices in its price range, reaching only a value of 8000 CU (PSI x GPM). When it comes to the highest overall cleaning power in the current price range, one of the products at the very top currently is the Simpson PS60843 and its 17600 Cleaning Units.

Price comparison

As you can see from this interactive chart, when compared to other gas-powered washers between 8000 and 8500 Cleaning Units, the ECHO PW-3200 is on the expensive side of the price range.

While certainly not the cheapest of its cleaning power range, purchasing it could most likely also mean enjoying the reliability of a high-end product.

The bottom line

STRENGTHS:
  • Designed to be stable
  • Good range of nozzles included
  • Automatic detergent dilution

  • CARB-compliant
WEAKNESSES:
  • On the expensive side
