Zoom on the ECHO PW-3200

In a nutshell, the ECHO PW-3200 is a heavy duty, commercial pressure washer, which not only offers an all-around versatile cleaning experience, but that also allows:

  • spot cleaning of hard, paint-free surfaces and out-of-reach areas
  • thorough cleaning of hard, paint-free surfaces
  • cleaning of painted and frail surfaces
  • use of detergent and cleaning solutions

The following sections will present you in detail its power characteristics and design, its main features and all the additional features it has to offer.

Power

With a powerful 212 cc engine, its axial cam pump delivers a pressure of 3200 PSI (roughly 53 times more than a standard garden hose) and a flow of up to 2.5 GPM (values as per PW101-2010), resulting in the ECHO PW-3200's cleaning power of 8000 Cleaning Units.

A classic pull-start mechanism is responsible for starting the gas-powered pressure washer’s engine.

Gasoline is stored in a steel fuel tank with a maximum capacity of 0.95 gallon.

Design & Handling

The wheelbarrow design of the ECHO PW-3200 grants mobility and stability to the unit. The robust steel frame guarantees longevity of the assembly. The reversible handle offers further versatility, as its different positions make the unit less bulky when stored.

Weighing 69 lbs, the unit is easy to maneuver by most people. One of the largest contributors to its weight are its 212 cc engine and its steel frame. Nethertheless, thanks to its two never-flat wheels, the PW-3200 remains very easy to manipulate and maneuver.

Main Features

The ECHO PW-3200 comes with a spray gun, a wand, a pressure hose, 5 nozzles and a detergent injection feature, which are detailed below.

  • Soap injection: Even though the device doesn't have a soap tank, detergent is supplied by a siphon hose. The ECHO PW-3200 has an automatic soap dilution mechanism, which dilutes the detergent using a 20:1 ratio. Whenever a soap nozzle is connected, the detergent is automatically added to the water.
  • Pressure hose: The 30 ft high-pressure hose, which is included with the device, can be stored neatly on the unit itself when idle, using a set of easy-to-use straps.
  • Spray gun and wand: A side hook enables you to easily store the included classic ergonomic spray gun and its wand. A rotating auxiliary side handle further improves both left-handed and right-handed users' comfort.
  • Nozzles: The table below shows you the 5 included nozzles, as well as the surfaces they're the most appropriate for.

The ECHO PW-3200's performance versus other pressure washers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how the key specs of the ECHO PW-3200 compare to similarly priced pressure washers.

  • The ECHO PW-3200 and its 3200 PSI, ranks amongst gas-powered pressure washers with a comparably low pressure output, considering the units that cost between $600 and $700. If your priority is the highest possible power of the water stream, in this price range, we suggest checking out the Simpson PS60843, which reaches up to 4400 PSI.
  • When compared to devices in the above-mentioned price range, this washer and its 2.5 GPM (gallons per minute), is on the lower end of the achievable water flow. If rinsing away debris most efficiently is your priority, one of the devices with the highest GPM in this price range is the Simpson PS60843, which can reach up to 4 GPM.
  • The PW-3200 has 8000 Cleaning Units (PSI x GPM), which can be considered low in comparison to other gas-powered devices of this price. If the highest overall cleaning power is your top priority, the Simpson PS60843, which can reach up to 17600 Cleaning Units, is one of the most efficient of the devices in the current price range.

Price comparison

As you can see from this interactive chart, when compared to other gas-powered washers between 8000 and 8500 Cleaning Units, the ECHO PW-3200 is on the average side of the price range.

Therefore, this pressure washer nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of cleaning power.
