Zoom on the Generac 6565

In a nutshell, the Generac 6565 is a heavy duty, commercial pressure washer, which not only offers an all-around versatile cleaning experience, but that also allows:

  • spot cleaning of hard, paint-free surfaces and out-of-reach areas
  • intense cleaning of tough, paintless surfaces
  • cleaning of painted and fragile surfaces
  • applying detergent and cleaning solutions

The following sections will present you in detail its power characteristics and design, its main features and all the additional features it has to offer.

Power

The Generac 6565 in use

The Generac 6565

Its triplex pump, which utilizes a powerful 420 cc engine, may deliver a pressure of up to 4200 PSI (almost 70 times more than a standard garden hose) and a flow of up to 4 GPM. These values correspond to a cleaning power of 16800 Cleaning Units.

The Generac engine of this gas-powered pressure washer gets started by a classic pull-start mechanism.

Gasoline storage is facilitated by a fuel tank with a maximum capacity of 1.5 gallon.

Design & Handling

The Generac 6565 is very mobile, due to its hand truck design and approximate dimensions of D34.5 x W28.3 x H42.5 in. The robust welded steel frame guarantees longevity of the assembly. The folding handle enhances its mobility, while allowing for a convenient storage.

The unit's weight of 146.5 lbs renders its carrying and transportation challenging, as it is far from lightweight. Its 420 cc Generac engine, the triplex pump and welded steel frame add up to a large chunk of the device's weight. However, the unit is mobile thanks to its two 12" pneumatic wheels, which add to its movability and allow it to be manipulated smoothly on the job.

Main Features

The Generac 6565's package includes a spray gun, a wand, a pressure hose, 5 nozzles and a detergent injection feature, with a more detailed description below.

  • Soap injection: Even though the device doesn't have a soap tank, detergent is supplied by a siphon hose. As the Generac 6565 doesn’t include a soap dilution mechanism, the user must provide a correctly diluted detergent before proceeding to use it. When a soap nozzle is connected, the detergent will be added automatically to the water.
  • Pressure hose: The included 50 ft ⌀3/8" high-pressure hose (4200 PSI rating) can be neatly stored on the unit when idle thanks to a set of convenient hooks.
  • Spray gun and wand: A side hook enables you to easily store the included classic ergonomic spray gun and its wand. A rotating auxiliary side handle further improves both left-handed and right-handed users' comfort.
  • Nozzles: The following table illustrates the 5 included nozzles, along with the surfaces which they are the most suitable for.

The Generac 6565's performance versus other pressure washers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how the key specs of the Generac 6565 compare to similarly priced pressure washers.

  • The Generac 6565, reaching a PSI of up to 4200, is one of the more powerful gas-powered units in $1000-1300 price range. If your priority is the highest possible power of the water stream, in this price range, we suggest checking out the Lifan LFQ4515E-CA, which reaches up to 4500 PSI.
  • In the aforementioned price range, the 4 GPM (gallons per minute) of this washer makes it one of the best performing units in terms of the delivered volume of water.
  • With a rather impressive value of 16800 Cleaning Units (PSI x GPM), the 6565 has a higher cleaning efficiency compared to similarly priced devices. If the highest overall cleaning power is your top priority, the Lifan LFQ4515E-CA, which can reach up to 18000 Cleaning Units, is one of the most efficient of the devices in the current price range.

Price comparison

As you can see from this interactive chart, when compared to other gas-powered washers between 16500 and 17000 Cleaning Units, the Generac 6565 is on the average side of the price range.
