Description

Zoom on the Greenworks GPW2001

The Greenworks GPW2001 is a medium duty pressure washer, that provides its users with an all-around versatile cleaning experience, and enables:

  • spot cleaning of hard, paint-free surfaces and out-of-reach areas
  • cleaning of painted and frail surfaces
  • applying detergent and cleaning solutions

Its power characteristics and design, its main features and all its additional features are presented ahead.

Power

Using a 13 amp induction motor, its axial cam pump delivers a pressure of up to 2000 PSI (roughly 33 times more than a standard garden hose) and a flow of up to 1.2 GPM (values as per PWMA testing standards). Together, the values result in a cleaning power of 2400 Cleaning Units.

As it is an electric pressure washer, the motor of the GPW2001 gets easily started by a simple ON/OFF switch. The unit is ready-to-use with peace of mind, thanks to the included 35 ft GFCI cord.

Design & Handling

The Greenworks GPW2001 is very mobile, due to its hand truck design. The folding handle enhances its mobility, while allowing for a convenient storage.

Standing at only 40.3 lbs, this model can be carried around very easily. This is, in part, thanks to its plastic frame, which allows it to remain as lightweight as possible. On top of its light weight, the transportability and ease of use of this model is further improved by the addition of two solid wheels.

Main Features

The Greenworks GPW2001's package includes a spray gun, a wand, a pressure hose, 5 nozzles and a detergent injection feature, with a more detailed description below.

  • Soap injection: Two different detergent solutions can be used to match your needs, thanks to a dual soap tank system. Whenever a soap nozzle is connected, the detergent is automatically added to the water.
  • Pressure hose: The 25 ft high-pressure hose, which is included with the device, can be stored neatly on the unit itself when idle, using a convenient hose reel, which also improves its lifespan.
  • Spray gun and wand: A dedicated slot allows for an easy storage of the included classic ergonomic spray gun and its wand.
  • Nozzles: The 5 included nozzles, and the respective surfaces they’re appropriate for, are listed in the table below.

The Greenworks GPW2001's performance versus other pressure washers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how the key specs of the Greenworks GPW2001 compare to similarly priced pressure washers.

  • With its 2000 PSI max pressure output, the Greenworks GPW2001 is in the expected pressure range, for electric units in the $150-180 price range. If your priority is the highest possible power of the water stream, in this price range, we suggest checking out the Westinghouse ePX3500, which reaches up to 2500 PSI.
  • The achievable water flow of this washer, which reaches 1.2 GPM (gallons per minute) can be described as low, compared to other devices in its price range. If rinsing away debris most efficiently is your priority, one of the devices with the highest GPM in this price range is the Sun Joe SPX2690-MAX, which can reach up to 1.8 GPM.
  • The GPW2001, with its 2400 Cleaning Units (PSI X GPM) sits at the high end of the cleaning efficiency spectrum, when compared to other devices of similar price. If the highest overall cleaning power is your top priority, the AR Blue Clean AR390SS, which can reach up to 2800 Cleaning Units, is one of the most efficient of the devices in the current price range.

Price comparison

As you can see from this interactive chart, when compared to other electric washers between 2000 and 2500 Cleaning Units, the Greenworks GPW2001 is on the average side of the price range.
