Zoom on the Greenworks PW18HYB

The Greenworks PW18HYB, a light duty pressure washer, gives its user an all-around versatile cleaning experience, topped off by the following features:

  • gentle cleaning of delicate surfaces, and low pressure cleaning of larger areas
  • applying detergent and cleaning solutions, and rinsing surfaces
  • spot cleaning of hard, unpainted surfaces, and removing stubborn stains

Ahead are presented its power characteristics and design, its main features and any other additional features.

Power

The Greenworks PW18HYB in use

The Greenworks PW18HYB

The Greenworks PW18HYB's axial cam pump, powered by a 13-amp universal motor, can provide a pressure of up to 1800 PSI (approximately 30 times more than a standard garden hose) and a flow of up to 1.1 GPM (values as per PWMA testing standards). Thus, the Greenworks PW18HYB achieves a cleaning power of 1980 Cleaning Units.

The PW18HYB easily starts up with the press of an ON/OFF switch, providing seamless operation. The unit is ready-to-use with peace of mind, thanks to the included 35 ft GFCI cord.

The main draw of the Greenworks PW18HYB is that it is a hybrid pressure washer. Thus, in addition to its corded operation, the unit can also operate cordlessly on batteries, which makes it ideal for cleaning areas with no AC hook up.

For this, you'll need two of Greenworks' pro-grade 60V lithium-ion batteries. Neither these batteries nor their charger are included with the unit. Note that when operating on battery, the PW18HYB max PSI drops to 1500 and max GPM to 1.0, for a total of 1500 Cleaning Units.

Design & Handling

The Greenworks PW18HYB is very mobile, due to its hand truck design and approximate dimensions of D18 x W20.4 x H25.3 in. The robust steel tubing frame guarantees longevity of the assembly, providing stability and protection for internal components, even under demanding working conditions. The foam-padded fixed handle adds to the PW18HYB convenience of transport, while offering a comfortable grip.

This unit's weight of 26.5 lbs makes it a breeze to carry around, perfect for on-the-go cleaning tasks. Further enhancing its lightweight design, the unit features two 8" never-flat wheels, streamlining transportation and maneuverability.

The Greenworks PW18HYB

The Greenworks PW18HYB comes with a spray gun, a wand, a pressure hose, 4 nozzles and a detergent injection feature, which are detailed below.

The Greenworks PW18HYB's performance versus other pressure washers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how the key specs of the Greenworks PW18HYB compare to similarly priced pressure washers.

  • The Greenworks PW18HYB, boasting 1800 PSI, achieves a lower pressure compared to other electric pressure washers in the $150-170 price bracket. For those prioritizing maximum water stream power, consider the Westinghouse ePX3500, boasting 2500 PSI, as a standout performer in this price range.
  • When measured against items within the price range mentioned earlier, this washer, with its 1.1 GPM, falls on the lower end of achievable water flow rates. In case you are looking for a device which can most efficiently rinse away debris in the current price range, the Westinghouse WPX2300e has the highest GPM of 1.76.
  • The PW18HYB has 1980 Cleaning Units (PSI X GPM), which can be considered low in comparison to other electric devices of this price. If the highest overall cleaning power is a priority, the Goodyear GYE22C and its 3630 Cleaning Units are notable for their higher potential cleaning efficiency compared to units in the same price range.
