The Rainier RPX2700 is a gas-powered pressure washer offering a maximum water pressure of 2700 PSI and flow of 2.3 GPM. (Read full specs)
Zoom on the Rainier RPX2700
In a nutshell, the Rainier RPX2700 is a medium duty pressure washer, which not only offers an all-around versatile cleaning experience, but that also allows:
- spot cleaning of hard, paintless surfaces and reaching far-away areas
- cleaning of painted and fragile surfaces
- use of detergent and cleaning solutions
Powered by an impressive 212 cc engine, its aluminum axial cam pump can deliver a pressure of 2700 PSI (around 45 times more than a standard garden hose) and a flow of up to 2.3 GPM (values claimed by the manufacturer). Combined, these values mean that the Rainier RPX2700 has a cleaning power of 6210 Cleaning Units.
The engine of this gas-powered pressure washer relies on an old-school pull-start mechanism to get started.
Gasoline storage is facilitated by a fuel tank with a maximum capacity of 0.9 gallon.
Design & Handling
The Rainier RPX2700 offers superb mobility, with a hand truck design and approximate dimensions of L21 x W19.5 x H39 in. Its sturdy steel tubing frame provides longevity to the assembly. The foam-padded fixed handle adds to the RPX2700 convenience of transport, while offering a comfortable grip.
With a weight of 64 lbs, the unit can be easily maneuvered by most users. Its 212 cc engine and steel tubing frame all add up to a substantial part of that weight. But, as the RPX2700 does have a set of two 12" never-flat wheels, it can be easily maneuvered and manipulated.
Along with the Rainier RPX2700 itself, the package also includes a spray gun, a pressure hose, 4 nozzles and a detergent injection feature, which are discussed in further detail below.
- Soap injection: A safe detergent storage is facilitated by a 0.5 gal tank. If a soap nozzle is attached, the device will proceed to add the detergent to the water automatically.
- Pressure hose: A neat storage for the included 25 ft ⌀5/16" high-pressure hose (2700 PSI rating) is facilitated by a set of convenient hooks.
- Spray gun: The included classic ergonomic spray gun can be easily stored in a side hook.
- Nozzles: The following table illustrates the 4 included nozzles, along with the surfaces which they are the most suitable for.

- Onboard storage: The Rainier RPX2700 allows you to be always fully prepared, as it features a handy storage area, where nozzles and accessories can be stored.
- Safety: Safety of operation is enhanced by a thermal relief valve (which helps to prevent internal pump damage) and a trigger lock mechanism (which prevents accidental operation).
- Accessories: Besides the usual owner's manual and documentation to get you promptly started, the Rainier RPX2700 comes with nozzle cleaner, funnel, spray gun, pressure hose, tool kit and oil.
- Emissions: The Rainier RPX2700 is EPA-approved and CARB-compliant. Therefore, the sale and purchase of this pressure washer is permitted in all of the 50 states, including California.
The Rainier RPX2700's performance versus other pressure washers
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how the key specs of the Rainier RPX2700 compare to similarly priced pressure washers.
- The Rainier RPX2700 with its 2700 PSI achieves a lower pressure value, compared to other gas-powered pressure washers in the $300-400 price range. If the highest possible power of the water stream is your priority, one of the champions in this price range is the Stanley SXPW3425 with 3400 PSI.
- In comparison to other devices in the above-mentioned price range, this washer and its 2.3 GPM (gallons per minute), has one of the lower GPM values. If rinsing away debris most efficiently is your priority, one of the devices with the highest GPM in this price range is the Predator 3100, which can reach up to 2.8 GPM.
- The RPX2700's Cleaning Units, 6210 CU (PSI x GPM), fall into the lower end when compared to gas-powered devices of similar price. When it comes to the highest overall cleaning power in the current price range, one of the products at the very top currently is the Westinghouse WPX3400 and its 8840 Cleaning Units.
As you can see from this interactive chart, when compared to other gas-powered washers between 6000 and 6500 Cleaning Units, the Rainier RPX2700 is on the expensive side of the price range.
While certainly not the cheapest of its cleaning power range, purchasing it could most likely also mean enjoying the reliability of a high-end product.
