Description
Zoom on the Ryobi RY803111
In a nutshell, the Ryobi RY803111 is a heavy duty, commercial pressure washer, which not only offers an all-around versatile cleaning experience, but that also allows:
- precise spot cleaning of hard, unpainted surfaces, reaching elevated areas, and effectively removing stubborn stains
- mild cleaning for delicate surfaces, and low-pressure cleaning for broader areas
- utilizing cleaning solutions, and rinsing surfaces clean
Ahead are presented its power characteristics and design, its main features and any other additional features.
Power
The Ryobi RY803111's aluminum axial cam pump, powered by a 196cc engine, can provide a pressure of up to 3200 PSI (approximately 53 times more than a standard garden hose) and a flow of up to 2.5 GPM (values claimed by the manufacturer). Thus, the Ryobi RY803111 achieves a cleaning power of 8000 Cleaning Units.
Featuring a dual starting mechanism, the Ryobi engine of this gas-powered pressure washer ensures convenience and reliability: you can opt for the more convenient electric start or rely on the classic pull-start mechanism. A 18V ONE+ Lithium+ battery, which is included in the package, is required for the electric start.
Containing gasoline, the pressure washer's fuel tank can hold a maximum of 0.25 gallon., which provides an approximate runtime of 45 minutes.
Design & Handling
The Ryobi RY803111's mobility is greatly enhanced by its hand truck design. The steel tubing frame's robustness ensures the assembly's longevity, maintaining stability and protecting internal components, even in the harshest environments. The foam-padded fixed handle adds to the RY803111 convenience of transport, while offering a comfortable grip.
With its weight clocking in at 72 lbs, this unit's heftiness can't be ignored, presenting significant difficulties for users who need to lift and transport it, especially over uneven terrain. The major reasons for its heavy weight are its 196cc Ryobi engine and steel tubing frame. Despite this, the presence of two 12" wheels reduces the complexity of moving the RY803111, even on rugged surfaces.
Main Features
The Ryobi RY803111 comes with a spray gun, a wand, a pressure hose, 4 nozzles and a detergent injection feature, which are detailed below.
- Soap injection: Detergent is stored in a 1 gal tank. The Ryobi RY803111 includes an automatic soap dilution mechanism, which will dilute the detergent using a 20:1 ratio. The detergent is automatically mixed with the water flow by the pressure washer when a soap nozzle is connected.
- Pressure hose: Utilizing a set of convenient hooks, the unit offers a convenient solution for storing the included 25 ft ⌀1/4" high-pressure hose when it's not in use, keeping it neatly organized.
- Spray gun and wand: A side hook allows for an easy storage of the included classic ergonomic spray gun and its metal wand.
- Nozzles: Review the table below to learn about the 4 included nozzles and the surfaces they're recommended for.

The Ryobi RY803111's performance versus other pressure washers
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how the key specs of the Ryobi RY803111 compared to similarly priced pressure washers.
This unit is now discontinued, but used to be sold around $470.
- With a maximum pressure output of 3200 PSI, the Ryobi RY803111 found itself within the anticipated pressure range for gas-powered units priced between $400 and $500. If you're going after the highest possible power of the water stream, one of the best in this price range is the Westinghouse WPX3600 that can reach up to 3600 PSI.
- This washer reaches 2.5 GPM (gallons per minute) and thus, had an average water flow compared to similarly priced devices. If you’re after the highest rinsing efficiency, one of the units with the highest water flow in the current price range is the Excell EPW2123100, that can deliver up to 2.8 GPM.
- With the RY803111's 8000 Cleaning Units (PSI X GPM), its cleaning efficiency range was considered average, compared to gas-powered units of similar price. If the highest overall cleaning power is a priority, the Westinghouse WPX3600 and its 9720 Cleaning Units are notable for their higher potential cleaning efficiency compared to units in the same price range.
The bottom line
- Electric start
- Good range of nozzles included
- Automatic detergent dilution
- Onboard storage
- Several security features
- Decent PSI for the price
- Decent GPM for the price
- Decent CU for the price
- The Ryobi RY803111 doesn't have any notably low specs.

won’t start right out of the box
Electric start after using a few times won’t work, won’t turn over with pull cord start either. Tried buying new batteries, changed
oil and gas, checked spark plug. Home Depot won’t return or exchange it. Waste of money.
